Dancing in the Sun

Some of you know that I used to take belly dancing lessons (my instruction is not teaching at present - bummer) My last class was in March but apparently my daughter hasn't forgotten.

We were walking down our hill the other day and it was a rare, sunny afternoon. The sun was shining gloriously on the bay below. It was stunning. I said to my daughter, "Look how the water is shimmering in the sunlight."

She said, "I know what the water is doing, it's belly dancing."

I corrected her, "Well, yes, shimmying is a part of belly dancing but the water is actually shimmering."

She said, "Yes, it's belly dancing."

O.k., Carmen, you win.

That's a really cute story Kate! It made me smile :-)

On a completely unrelate note, I saw on the news this morning that the Olympic ticket prices have been set, although the tix aren't on sale until late next year. Check this link for info on how to buy tickets (it was you who mentioned trying to get tickets to some of the events, wasn't it?)

I love that story! I love bellydancing too!
You should try to start a storytelling group. Ours was very informal to start, just the three families who were doing it. It's a great way to share a love of good stories!

If you ever think you aren't very brave or adventurous, just remember you take bellydancing. Now I think that's adventurous! I think dancing is one of the scariest things I can think of.

Thanks for the story!
