What I've Learned Recently

With my 46th (gasp!) birthday approaching at the end of this week, I'm taking stock of what I've learned recently.

I've learned that it is, indeed, possible to put a thong on wrong - and wear it a few hours before realizing the mistake.

I've learned that getting older sucks. One day you are young and can do anything. The next day ....

I've learned that one must not react immediately to anything a child confides in you. One must think carefully about how to respond. Never be shocked or dismayed (at least openly) to what you hear.

I've learned that without God, I am nothing and can do even less. To reach down deep and find the strength to crawl out of whatever hole you've dug for yourself cannot be done alone. I need God.

So, what have YOU learned lately?

I just learned that I know more than one person who has had trouble putting the thong on correctly. :o) On the plus side, you didn't raise a big stink at the store about selling you the wrong size before discovering you had it on wrong!
I've learned not to take myself so seriously.
I've learned that even though I'm older and can't do all that I used to, I also have more to offer my younger friends in terms of wisdom, spirituality and mentoring. It's not a bad stage to be in. ;o)

Peace and Laughter,
Cristina

I've learned that, though it's a different time in their lives, it's just as difficult to respond to teens throwing more-grown-up-tantrums as it was toddlers. I've learned that they probably got this problem from their parents being frustrated and overreacting about their own circumstances. And I've learned that love covers a multitude of sins, and God's grace is deeper still.

Have a wonderful day.

PS Thanks for the thong story...gave me a chuckle...

I've learned that some people (ME) should not even attempt to wear a thong......I've also learned that parenting doesn't get any easier when the kids get older.

Happy Birthday!!!!
